[Homework] 2주차 04


Today, I am going to talk about the importance of drinking water and persuade you to drink enough water.

The WHO encourages people to drink at least 2L of water per day. On average, it is important to drink at least 8 cups of water per day.

The first reason why we should drink water is that body absolutely needs enough water for life. The human body is mostlywater. About 70 percent of body is made of water.

So, If your body doesn’t have enough water, you would feel thirsty and tired easily. If you don't have 5 percent of water in your body, you would get sick and faint. Maybe you would die.

The second reason why we should drink water is that water is super important for our bodies. Water in body works hard. Water does many things like controlling body temperature, delivering oxygen, removing wastes from body and many other things.

I don't think 2L of water is too much per day. Do you like drinking water?

Actually, I didn't like drinking water. Because I think It tastes bad. So I didn't drink water. When I felt thirsty, I used to drink coke and coffee. Sometimes I even didn't drink a cup of water in a day.

But, This year I am trying to drink 2L of water per day. So, When I go to work, I bring a bottle for water. I am trying to drink water even if I am not thirsty.

After I started drinking water I started seeing a lot of positive changes in my body. For instance, my body is healthier, and I can now digest food more easily than before. Also i eat less sweets than I would normally do.

I can have many health benefits by drinking water. Actually drinking water is still hard. But, I won't give up drinking water.

Drinking too much water is not good for our bodies. But still, water is super important.

If you hate drinking water like me, Try to drink more and more water. The more we are used to drinking water, the healthier we can live.


1) To encourage + someone + to do sth.

  • The teacher encouraged the students to study for the exam.
  • The government is encouraging people to stay home.
  • The WHO encourages people to drink at least 2L of water per day.

2) When talking about the human body, it is common to say "our bodies".

  • Exercise is good for our bodies.
  • Eating a balanced diet is good for our bodies.
  • Our bodies cannot survive in extremely cold weather.

3) The reason + why + action

  • The reason why we should study is to have a good future.
  • The reason why people should drink water is that water helps our bodies in many ways.
